Dr. Lavin grew up in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, a suburb outside of Philadelphia. She attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She pursued her dental education at Temple University in Philadelphia, achieving Summa Cum Laude honors in both her Doctorate of Dental Medicine and her undergraduate studies.
Before founding her practice, Dr. Lavin spent several formative years with the Health Service Corps, where she delivered essential dental services to underserved populations. Today, she remains an active member of the American Dental Association and the Seattle Study Club, continuously advancing her education and training.
Beyond the office, Dr. Lavin loves to spend time at the beach with her husband and golden retriever. You might also catch her on the pickleball courts spending time with her friends, or at her local church, where she enjoys teaching kindergarten Sunday school.

Originally from Medford, New Jersey, Shane’s early life was focused on sports–an avid soccer and lacrosse player. After graduating high school he went on to Millersville University where he earned degrees in Environmental Science and Occupational Health and Safety in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. His career journey includes roles at an environmental firm, bridge & heavy highway construction, and food distribution companies.
Shane specializes in hazard identification, risk assessment, OSHA compliance, and emergency response planning. He is dedicated to promoting a safe workplace and ensuring compliance with current regulations. Shane serves as the practice manager at Lavin Family Dental, where he looks forward to supporting his community in Venice, Florida, and welcoming patients to the practice. When Shane is not at the office he is enjoying the beautiful weather playing men’s soccer, golf, men's tennis, or hanging out with his friends and family.
