Digital X-Rays & CBCT Imaging
At Lavin Family Dental, we use the latest in dental imaging technology to ensure your oral health is thoroughly assessed with precision and comfort. Our digital X-rays provide high-resolution images of your mouth’s structure, enabling us to diagnose and plan treatments with accuracy. These X-rays use significantly less radiation than traditional film-based x-rays, offering a safer, more comfortable experience.
In addition to digital X-rays, we also offer 3D imaging with our Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) system. This advanced technology captures detailed 3D scans of your teeth, gums, and bone structure, providing a more comprehensive view of your oral health and allowing us to identify issues that might not be visible with traditional imaging.
While most patients will have a full set of X-rays once or twice a year, Dr. Lavin may recommend additional imaging if there’s a dental emergency or to investigate a specific concern. With our cutting-edge imaging tools, we ensure that every aspect of your oral health is carefully monitored for optimal care.
Fun Fact:
Did you know that the amount of radiation from a full set of dental X-rays is roughly the same as what you’d experience in just one day of living (from natural sources like cosmic rays, buildings, ground, radon gas, and even food & drink)? Even more interesting, a 1-2 hour airplane flight exposes you to about the same amount of radiation as a dental X-ray series! So, you can feel confident that the radiation from your dental X-rays is minimal and well within safe limits.
